Poor Diet

A good diet is the foundation for staying healthy in all respects. A diet that is rich in sugary and other kinds of junk food do not provide the body with enough nutrients, which prevents removal of harmful toxins.

It is crucial that individuals follow a diet rich in Vitamins and the right macro nutrients to ensure healthy joints and bones. A study found that men who had a substantially higher intake of vitamin E were less likely to experience knee joint pains. This also holds true in the case of Vitamins E and C.

Improper Or Lack Of Enough Exercise

Engaging in physical activity is important for keeping muscles strong and joints supple. It can encourage greater mobility and result in less risks of joint or knee pains. An overall lack of exercise, coupled with a poor diet, leads to excess weight gain. This can put immense strain on the joints, increasing the likelihood of joint pains.

However, it is not always the case of lack of exercise. In fact, high-intensity exercises can equally be dangerous for those whose bones are weak. People over the age of 50 should perform light exercises on a daily basis to strengthen their bones. Overdoing it can lead to strain and weaker bones.

In short, the aforementioned lifestyle factors generally lead to higher risks of osteoarthritis. Adopting healthy lifestyle habits is the key to preventing such risks.
